Nestled in the quaint village of Harrington, among the beautiful rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, is Ovens Farm Vineyard, an award-winning local drink producer that produces all wine on-site.
Established almost a decade ago, the farm boasts an impressive 6,000 Bacchus and Solaris vines. All are grown across various types of soil with sandy loams at the top of the vineyard running into heavier clay soils at the bottom of the hill. The subsoils run from chalk and limestone in some areas through to ironstone in others. Each of these elements brings something different to the wines, creating a unique taste of Lincolnshire.
The site also boasts a fantastic winery housed in a renovated traditional farm building. Containing a range of stainless steel wine tanks in which the wines ferment.
