Nestled in picturesque Alford, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, is Claythorpe Watermill, an 18th-century building. Home to The Claythorpe Café, a one-of-a-kind experience where diners can sit among the original remaining millworks. In the hotter weather, customers can also soak up some sun al fresco dining in the large marquee and outdoor seating area.
Serving breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, burgers, cakes, and cream teas. This café is the perfect destination throughout the day. And a wide range of meals and drinks can be made vegetarian and vegan, with vegan spread, sausages, cheese, and oat milk alternatives on offer.
Championing Lincolnshire produce, there's a variety of local delights available, such as Belvoir presse, Local craft ale brewers Ferry Ale Beers, locally made sandwich bread, pork pie, ice cream, and more. On Saturdays, they also have their wildly popular pizza nights. Cooked in a wood-burning stove, the stone-baked pizzas go down a treat!
A family-friendly establishment, children are welcome with a kids' lunch box meal, milkshakes, and swings ready to be enjoyed. And with the refreshing river flowing beneath the mill, it's no shock that wildlife has also taken a liking to the rural area too, and families can enjoy feeding the resident ducks.
A beautifully spacious venue, they also host film screenings as an outdoor cinema on summer nights. With previous screenings of Dirty Dancing, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Greatest Showman, A star is born, and West Side Story. And with the refreshing river flowing beneath the mill, it's no shock that wildlife has also taken a liking to the rural area too.
